it is never (too) late ... a new beginning

It has been almost a year since my last post, and what drove me to write this lines is equally important to me than the last one, but it has a different meaning. Yet both reasons fill me with a joy I've neglected to show. The reason I'm writing this is, obviously, that we are already one year together, a year that has been mainly filled with joy, happiness and love, a year to remember and commemorate, a year to be proud of and a year to build a foundation upon. I know there has been bad times, but the ability to overcome them together is what makes us who we are and shows how good we are together.

Now, you must be wondering why am I writing this in English. Well, the reason is because my other posts are in Spanish, the simple fact that this one isn't already makes it special. This whole week I've been looking for a way to mend my greatest mistake, I'm deeply sorry and I'm trying my best to show you how important and special and unique you are and how much I love you.

I've given a lot of thought as to which one would be the best way to make you feel the most special lady on this planet, and recently I remembered something I said to myself when I first started listening to Zeppelin, and that is: "someday I'll dedicate this song to someone". Well, that day (or should I say "that someone") has finally arrived and in you I see the one who inspires me to give you this song. Although it's not an album, is a song that is worth a hundred albums, for what it means to me. It means that I promised myself that I'd dedicate this song to the only one that is worth it, and that one is you, my love. I hope you understand what this song is to me, it has been lying there, waiting for the right moment to be dedicated.

This is a song that tells the feelings that I have longed for in the past and have finally arrived with you. It tells how strong are those feelings that I have for you. It makes me realize how stupid I've been sometimes, and how much I owe you.

It tells that no matter what happens, nothing will change the way I feel about you. Even if the world falls apart, I'll keep you in my heart. You inspire me to do great things like planning a trip and then going on that trip together, or even the tiniest thing like getting up early every morning just to go and see you. And yet, there are a lot of things left to do together, a lot of great things that I know I could only do with you by my side.

I'm happy as I have never been, and I wish I can make you the happiest woman there is. Always remember, you are the only one to me. Lastly, I thank you for this amazing year, I thank you for the good and the bad times, I thank you for being there for me, I thank you for putting up with me, I thank you for taking care of me and I thank you for loving me.

Thank you, my love.

This one is one of my favourites, just looking at it makes me happy, and makes me want to do all the things we have left to do and all the things we are meant to do together.

viviendo en un arcoiris

Esta es una edición especial dominguera de El Álbum de la Semana, y digo especial porque el día de hoy es en sí especial. Lo que pasa es que el día de hoy se inicia una etapa de investigación y descubrimiento de nuevos sonidos y nuevas músicas y nuevas melodías, inspirada no por aburrimiento sino más bien por un afán de siempre aprender qué de nuevo hay.

Sin embargo sería una terrible omisión no mencionar que la selección del álbum de esta semana ha sido hecha con una persona en mente, a la cual me gustaría dedicar este álbum, más como una cuestión simbólica que como otra cosa ya que esa persona ha sido propiciadora de esta nueva tendencia de descubrimiento musical. Así que espero que aceptes esta dedicación como regalo cumpleañero y como muestra de agradecimiento.

El álbum de esta semana lo he escuchado repetidas veces de manera intensiva y sigo pensando que es bastante místico, con una mezcla de sonidos bastante oscuros (a pesar de que son bastante simples) y una voz que le da un toque aún más profundo y misterioso. Todo el álbum tiene una tonalidad azul bastante oscura desde mi punto de vista y es bastante ligero, casi como agua de mar. Bueno, sin más les dejo (y a ti en especial) este álbum que está bastante bueno si es que tienen la paciencia de procesarlo y entenderlo:


Así es, yo se que nadie se lo esperaba, pero aquí está. In Rainbows de la banda británica (o era inglesa?) Radiohead, un álbum que fue originalmente lanzado en formato digital comercializado a través de internet, lo cual considero que fue un gran error debido a que la calidad del formato de audio usado fue muy pésima (apenas 160Kbps). Pero que sin embargo fue lanzado meses después en calidad de CD acompañado de un disco bonus que contenía 8 canciones que no son consideras (al menos por ahora) por el redactor.
